Cheshire Map Adventure competition terms and conditions

  1. The competition is open to participants who reside within the boundaries of North West England and North Wales except:
    1. Employees of the library service and the museums service of Cheshire West and Chester Council.
    2. Employees of Cheshire Archives & Local Studies
    3. Members of the immediate families or households of (a) and (b) above.
  2. In entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to claim the prize.
  3. There is a limit of one entry per person. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed.
  4. All competition entries must be submitted by email to libraryevents@cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk during the period Monday 24 May to the end of Monday 28 June (the "Closing Date"). All competition entries received after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified..
  5. The winner will be the one with the most correct answers to the questions posed as part of the competition, unless there are two or more entrants who have the same number of most correct answers. In the latter case, the winner will be randomly chosen from those with the highest number of correct answers.
  6. The winner will be selected as soon as possible after the Closing Date.
  7. An employee of Cheshire West and Chester Council will contact the winner personally as soon as practicable after the Announcement Date, using the telephone number, address or email address provided with the competition entry.
  8. Cheshire West and Chester Council will make all reasonable efforts to contact the winner. If a chosen winner does not respond to correspondence within one (1) week, Cheshire West and Chester Council reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant with the highest number of correct answers from the correct entries that were received before the Closing Date. If more than one entrant has the next highest number of correct answers then the result will be chosen randomly from those with the highest joint score.
  9. The decision of Cheshire West and Chester Council will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
  10. The prize is not transferable to another person.
  11. The prize will be a £10 book token to the winner. No part of the prize is negotiable or transferable.
  12. The prize can be sent digitally. If a physical version is preferred, it should be collected at a prearranged time from Ellesmere Port Library, Civic Way, Ellesmere Port, CH65 0BG. The winner must inform Cheshire West and Chester Libraries if they cannot collect. If collection is not possible, please allow 30 days for delivery of the prize.
  13. The prize may not be claimed by a third party on your behalf.
  14. The competition is run by Cheshire Archives & Local Studies, in association with Cheshire West and Chester Libraries and the Museums Service.
  15. Cheshire West and Chester Council reserves the right to amend the competition end date at any time.
  16. The participating council services are Cheshire West and Chester Council Library Service, Cheshire West and Chester Museums Service and Cheshire Archives & Local Studies only,
  17. Online entries must include the age of the entrant. If the entrant is under 16, the permission of the parent or guardian is needed.
  18. Cheshire West and Chester Council will not accept: (a) responsibility for competition entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any postal failure, equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind; or (b) proof of posting or transmission as proof of receipt of entry to the competition.
  19. Cheshire West and Chester Council must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation Cheshire West and Chester Council will publish the surname and county of the prize winner and, if applicable, their winning entries online using the social media channels of the Libraries, Museum and Cheshire Archives & Local Studies services.
  20. If you object to any or all of your surname, county and winning entry being published or made available, please contact Cheshire West and Chester Libraries via libraryevents@cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk.  In such circumstances, Cheshire West and Chester Libraries must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.
  21. Cheshire West and Chester Council will only process your personal information as set out in the Privacy Policy which can be found here: https://www.cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk/system-pages/privacy-policy.aspx.
  22. If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, Cheshire West and Chester Council may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition.
  23. Cheshire West and Chester Council reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize competition where it becomes necessary to do so.
  24. By submitting a competition entry, you are agreeing to be bound these terms and conditions.
