Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) 22573
Wilmslow West and Chorley ward

Officers have been continuing to address anti-social behaviour – predominately related to young people – across the area.

Officers continue to patrol Spring Street car park with various actions ranging from letters home to interviews for offences having taken place. Discussions with the local authority and other agencies have led to an agreement for a number of measures to be put in place to prevent the problems, including the locking of doors and disconnection of charging points for mobile phones.

The benches on Carnival Fields have been removed by partner agencies, following concerns from residents about young people drinking, shouting and playing loud music. Patrols of the area and other parks continue.

As always, the risk of criminals taking advantage of gaps in security remains present. There are many simple ways to help protect your property, including:
  • Making sure security lights are switched on and work
  • Setting burglar alarms at night and whenever you leave your house
  • Removing all valuables from your vehicle and ensuring it is kept locked
  • Locking all windows, doors and gates to your house. If you don’t have a gate, put your wheelie bins in front of your vehicle
  • Stick up warning signs, such as “beware of the dog” or “CCTV in progress”
  • Join or set up a Neighbourhood Watch or messaging group for your street, allowing residents to share useful information and help each other out.
