Wyvern House now offers a range of services under one roof

27 June 2018

Wyvern House in Winsford now offers residents all the help they need in one visit after the building was refurbished to accommodate new partners.

Together with council services, the new facilities on the ground floor are home to Job Centre Plus, the Work Zone and Citizens Advice. Residents can also access a range of other services which offer employment, housing, health and welfare reform support. They will be given help to apply for jobs, develop their skills and receive money management advice.

There will be lots of events like job fairs and seminars as well as opportunities to attend free training courses. Referrals to other organisations can be made more quickly, preventing people being sent across town to other buildings. This will reduce the need for people to tell their story more than once, leading to a faster resolution.

The customer services area has been redesigned to create a friendly and welcoming open plan space. Extra computers are available for people who want to access information, advice and services for themselves, with free wi-fi. Support is on hand to help people improve their digital skills.

Cllr Brian Clarke, Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Infrastructure, said: "The Public Services Hub in Wyvern House is a fantastic facility for Winsford residents because it has multiple council and public services all under one roof. It will provide an improved customer experience to all people accessing help and advice." Barbara Dean, a community inspirer from the Poverty Truth Commission, said: "New services in Wyvern House will make life easier for local people to get help and advice. It’s great that so many agencies are together. Customers have a vital role in helping shape the customer experience and the Poverty Truth Commission will ensure customer feedback on what is and isn't working is considered as the service is developed."

If you feel that you would benefit from any of the services on offer, visit Wyvern House between 8.30am and 5pm to talk to the team of dedicated advisors.
