Update on wall collapse at Liverpool Road, Chester

1 June 2021

Cheshire West and Chester Council is now able to provide an update on the wall collapse on Liverpool Road, Chester.

Work has taken place to establish the condition of the rest of the wall and now a trial will test a possible solution to secure the structure, using ground anchors.

The trial will begin on 14 June and traffic management will be in place in the area from Monday to Thursday (inclusive) while engineers carry out the work.

The owners of three properties have agreed for the anchors to be inserted through their wall and below their gardens.  Once they are installed the anchors will be monitored for a period of up to one month.

After this period the structural engineers will be able to determine if the test has been successful and could work as a viable structural solution.
