|Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council has decided to bring into force an experimental order whereby no person shall drive any vehicle at a speed exceeding 20 miles per hour on Grosvenor Road from a point 85 metres south of its junction with Grosvenor Roundabout to a point 40 metres north of its junction with Overleigh Roundabout. |
Reasons for the decision
The reduced speed limit aims to provide a safer space for cyclists at this location.
- To reduce the speed of traffic travelling adjacent to the new experimental advisory cycle lanes which have been introduced across Grosvenor Bridge.
- There is a section of carriageway across the bridge where it is not possible to reallocate road space to cyclists and it is necessary for cyclists to rejoin other traffic.
Date of decision: 28 September 2020
