Disabled persons' parking place order: Ellesmere Port - Woodacre Road

Notice is hereby given that Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council propose to make the following Traffic Regulation Order in accordance with the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

(WOODACRE ROAD, ELLESMERE PORT)
(DISABLED PERSONS’ PARKING PLACE) ORDER 2021

The effect of the Order will be to introduce a disabled persons’ parking bay on Woodacre Road (east side) - from the northerly end of the lay-by located between its junctions with Croughton Road and Childwall Road for a distance of 3.6 metres in a southerly direction.

All objections and other representations relating to the Order must be made in writing to the undersigned by 5 February 2021 and objections must specify the grounds on which they are made. Any representations made should specify the title of the Order and may become available for public inspection.

Draft order

Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council (“the Council”) in exercise of its powers conferred by Sections 1, 2, 4 and 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (hereinafter referred to as “the 1984 Act”), Part 6 of the Traffic Management Act 2004 and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act hereby makes the following Order:-

1.    This Order shall come into operation on the >> day of >> 2021 and may be cited as the “Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council (Woodacre Road, Ellesmere Port) (Disabled Persons’ Parking Place) Order 2021”. 

2.    The Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Street Parking Places) (Civil Parking Enforcement and Consolidation) Order 2013 (“the 2013 Order”) is hereby amended by the addition of the disabled persons’ parking bay shown on attached plan (tile reference BL33/A) on Woodacre Road to those depicted on the corresponding lengths on the relevant plan (tile reference BL33) attached to the 2013 Order.  All other restrictions shown on the said plan attached to the 2013 Order shall continue in full force and effect. 

 

Statement of reasons

A Traffic Regulation Order for the introduction of a disabled persons’ parking place on Woodacre Road has been proposed in response to a recommendation by the Council’s Community Occupational Therapy Team to implement an on-street disabled persons’ parking bay.  This has been recommended to provide designated parking close to the home of a wheelchair user.
