Walks for all - Anderton Nature Park

As a result of its industrial past areas of salt, lime, ash and clinker create different conditions which allow unusual plants to thrive.
Suggested route: Distance 4km (2.5 miles). Allow 2-3 hours.
There are several routes to explore but the route highlighted is fully accessible and takes you along a fabulous waterside walk with the option of visiting the bird hide at Haydns pool. There is one motorbike barrier along the canal towpath.
It is a wonderful walk that allows you to experience various different wildlife habitats. You could also visit the Anderton Boat lift and make a real day of it.
The Park is located off Marbury Road and is adjacent to the Anderton Boat Lift.
The Boat Lift is well signed from Northwich town centre and there are regular bus services from Northwich and Warrington, which stop outside Anderton Post Office.
Accessible toilets are located at the Boat Lift Visitor Centre, where there is also a café.
There is a large car park, with five dedicated disabled bays. Car park charges: up to 3 hours - £2; over 3 hours - £3; season ticket - £25; Blue badge holders free. Car park opens from 9am - 8pm (1 April - 30 September) and 9am - 5pm (1st October - 31st March)
