Regeneration

Ellesmere Port is superbly located  on the banks of the River Mersey and the Manchester Ship Canal with direct access to the M53, M56 and A55. The town offers a great choice and flexibility for industrial, commercial and residential premises providing great value solutions to new and existing investors. The combination of location and value make this a compelling destination.

The recently established Ellesmere Port Development Board is working towards meeting the needs of residents and businesses, now and in the future. The Board has set early objectives to attract and encourage investment to create local employment and make people proud of the town as a place to live, work and visit.

The Board is keen to celebrate unprecedented levels of investment from both the public and private sectors, from new and existing businesses and industries. This includes the largest Marks and Spencer outside London, the opening of the iconic West Cheshire College Campus, the building of a new school Academy and the near completion of an extension to the town centre Port Arcades shopping centre. Recent regeneration activity has created over 1 million sq ft of floor space and developed 25 acres of land.

Residential developments continue to be progressed across the town, including the ambitious Ellesmere Quays and Waterfront scheme that will transform the historic docks, creating 5,500 new homes alongside a new leisure and tourism destination of national significance.

Manufacturing, the automotive industry, energy and retail are all major employers. New arrivals ESSAR, join Vauxhall Motors. The celebrated Cheshire Oaks Outlet provides over 140 retail units which attract over eight million visitors each year. Further attractions include the neighbouring Coliseum Retail and Leisure Park, Blue Planet Aquarium and the National Waterways Museum.

Ellesmere Port businesses benefit from a huge population catchment, a large pool of skilled highly productive workers. The town has excellent access to the North West and strengthening connectivity to global markets via sea, rail, air and road. It is unsurprising that Ellesmere Port is increasingly recognised as a prime target for investment for new and existing national and international companies.
