Theft from motor vehicles - Whitby Ward

Just a quick update regarding three recent reports we have received for 'Theft from vehicles' with the Whitby Ward area.

We also request that should you live in these areas and have CCTV ,or information that may be of relevance that you get in touch, quoting the associated IML number



Report received this morning (16th) That a van parked on a residential driveway was accessed at some point during the over night period (times to be confirmed), by damaging the rear doors to gain access.

A large quantity of power tools were taken.

Do you have any information/CCTV which may help to identify those responsible?

Of note... 

At 4.54 am, this morning (16th) a resident of Woodsome Drive reported seeing a white van driving up and down the road. A male got out of the van and was seen to walk up and down driveways, shining a torch, before returning to the van.

Male described as medium/large build wearing shorts and a baseball cap. Only description of van was it had writing on the side, which appeared to be in an arched font.

This vehicle may or may not be linked but if you have any information regarding this incident please quoting IML 1109472 in any response. 



During the overnight period of 12th into 13th two vehicles were entered and contents taken from within. - Due to the proximity of the thefts it is possible that the offences have been committed by the same offender/s.

Maple Grove - Insecure Mercedes entered and bag containing gym things and wallet was taken.

Dunkirk Lane - Vauxhall Astra entered by unknown means and a laptop taken from the boot.
