PARKING COMPLAINTS VICARS CROSS

Alert message sent 28/12/2018 15:28:00

Information sent on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary

Good Afternoon,

Police have received complaints from residents in this area regarding motor vehicles parking in the confines of junctions, across driveways and on pavements and on marked areas such as zig zags and turning circles.

This letter is to advise and encourage all motorists to park considerately by keeping the roads, driveways and pavements including junctions clear enough for other highway users to pass unobstructed. Turning circles are clearly marked and are not to be used for parking.

Please refer to the Highway Code which gives good simple and common sense rules on waiting and parking and highway users requiring extra care.

We will continue to maintain a presence in this area as long as the problems persist. Motor vehicles committing obstruction offences risk being issued with a £30 non-endorsable Fixed Penalty Notice. More serious offences such as parking on zig zags and leaving a vehicle in a dangerous position could result in the issue of an endorsable Fixed Penalty Notice of a £60 fine and 3 penalty points or even removal of the offending vehicle/s.

We would like to thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter and encourage you to contact the police if any help or advice is needed.

Highway Code information can be found on the direct.gov website www.direct.gov.uk/en/TravelAndTransport/Highwaycode/index.htm or a copy may be available at the local library.

We thank you in advance for your co-operation in this matter.
