Hare Coursing Incidents

Alert message sent 19/12/2017 12:33:00

Information sent on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary

Dear Members,
Over the last couple of weeks Police have received a number of calls in relation to suspected hare coursers off Heath Lane/ Kenyon Lane. Most of the incidents were called in around midday. The last reported incident was Sunday 17th December where three males with dogs were seen on fields of Barrow Hall farm. A silver Subaru vehicle registration PY04JTU was seen parked up by Police on a private track leading to Hill top farm off Heath Lane and this vehicle was being used by the coursers.
Due to the recent burglaries of rural properties recently we have to be mindful if the perpetrators are not scoping properties and potentially targeting other locations that are holding expensive agricultural/plant material.
May I remind residents to note any suspicious vehicles that you don't recognise being parked up, or see males that are believed to be responsible for hare coursing to note anything that may assist us in the future and call the Police on 101. Brief details can just be left and can be either passed on to myself or if require immediate response to call 999.
