Large fire by Tan House Lane in Widnes

Large warehouse fire in Widnes


Firefighters are dealing with a huge warehouse fire on Tan House Lane in Widnes.

The fire involves a large amount of plastic and cardboard. This has caused a huge plume of black smoke that can be seen for miles.

There are currently 15 fire engines and an aerial appliance at the scene. The site has been fully evacuated and crews are tackling the blaze with hose reels and main water jets.

Roads surrounding the incident have been closed and people are being advised to stay away.

Also please keep doors and windows shut if you live nearby.

Crews are likely to be there for some time.
