Update for September

Alert message sent 03/10/2016 00:05:00

Information sent on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary

Hello everyone,

Now the children have gone back to school we are starting to plan ahead for Halloween and Bonfire Night.
While the majority of children and families will enjoy these events in a safe and sensible way, there is usually a small minority who will see an opportunity for behaving in a disruptive, anti-social and sometimes criminal manner. In previous years, the night before Halloween has been particularly problematic. As such we would ask that children are discouraged from socializing with friends on the evening of the 30th October and are encouraged to engage in organized activities on the night of Halloween and Bonfire Night.

In other news, we’ve been working with licensees from local pubs, over the last month, to help them in dealing with problematic customers, and in response to our recent survey, which identified public order and drunkenness as a policing priority for the area.

We have also been working with our local housing trusts to tackle anti-social and criminal behavior committed by tenants. At the time of writing, eviction proceedings have been initiated in relation to four tenants who have persistently persecuted their neighbours and the wider community. This is a direct response to feedback from the local community and has only been achieved as a result of your support.

We also wanted to take this opportunity to let you know about a change to the beat management team for the area. PC Adam Norton is changing departments soon, and is being replaced by PC Lucy Kennedy. PC Kennedy is an experienced police officer who has recently joined us in Cheshire, having previously worked for Greater Manchester Police. We are confident that she will be a great addition to the team and she will continue to work alongside existing beat manager, Richard Green and PCSO’s Gary Buckles and Rebecca Thompson.

Another great bit of news for our area is that we will shortly have a Police Now recruit working with us. Police Now is an innovative new scheme that is intended to attract some of the best possible recruits into policing . The recruits are fully sworn in police officers but will be specifically tasked with addressing persistent problems in the areas in which they work. PC Laura Goddard joins us next week.

Regards,
Your beat management team.
