Cheshire Police Alert - Old Town Update

Alert message sent 03/08/2016 08:41:00

Information sent on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary

Hi,
Just a quick update to let you know what has been going on in the Old Town/Mersey beat area over the past month. It's been a busy few weeks, particularly with many of our schools holding end of term events etc.

We have recently conducted a survey of all businesses in the town centre allowing managers and business owners to tell us what matters to them and the way that we can help to improve the town centre environment for everyone. We will be able to give you further information once we have fully analysed the results.

An update/reminder regarding two of our more persistent town centre offenders:

Emma Knight of the Runcorn area has been subject to a Criminal Behaviour Order for some time now and the order will remain in place until October 2017. She is prohibited from:
- Being drunk in a public place
- Asking members of the public to buy alcohol for her
- Carrying items that could be used to make graffitti

- Causing unnecessary alarm or distress to any person
- Entering any retail premises from which she has been issued a banning order

Audie Horabin, previously of the Runcorn area has also been made subject to a Criminal Behaviour Order following persistent offending in the town centre. The order will remain in place until May 2018. He is prohibited from:
- Asking any person unknown to him for money
- Being in possession of an open alcohol container in a public place
- Consuming alcohol in a public place, other than licensed
premises
- Acting or inciting others to act in an anti-social manner, that is to say, a manner that causes or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to one or more persons.
- Urinating or exposing his penis in any public place, excluding public toilets.

Should either of them breach their conditions, they can be arrested. Suspected breaches should be reported to police.

We also arrested a male who was wanted for a string of shoplifting offences in the town centre in the past week. We won’t be releasing his details just yet as he is still to appear in court but we hope to circulate more details over the coming months.

Thanks,
Adam
