Community News

Officers attended Poynton High School on Wednesday 13th July for the Year 9 Student Development Day. Officers gave the students an input on abusive relationships and sexting. Officers educated the students on the different types of abuse that can occur in relationships along with the law and consequences.

Over the month we have seen a rise in thefts from unattended motor vehicles. To ensure that you do not become a victim of this crime, always lock you vehicle whenever it is left unattended, remove valuables from your vehicle or make sure that they are not on view. Just remember that if you can see it, an offender will be able to see it. If you see anyone in your area trying car door handles or acting suspiciously please call us on 101 or 999 in an emergency. Please don’t leave it for someone else to make the call. By calling us you may be stopping a crime in progress and be helping to apprehend the offenders.

Property and Vehicle Crime

Overnight 6th-7th July offenders have entered a vehicle parked on Towers Road and keys and a wallet have been taken from within. If you have any information please call 101 and quote CC16201854.

Overnight 18th-19th July offenders have gained entry into the rear of Brookside Garden Centre and stolen a high valued pond filter and pump. If you know who is responsible of have seen anyone or any vehicles in the area please call 101 quoting CC16215938.

Overnight 18th-19th July a Wacker plate has been stolen from Norbury Hollow Caravan Park. If you have any information please call 101 quoting Crime Number 0716216202.

Overnight 19th-20th July offenders have gained entry into a building under renovation on Chester Road and hand tools and a boiler have been stolen. If you have any information please call 101 quoting CC16217495.

Overnight 21st-22nd July a burglary occurred at an address on Woodford Road and a vehicle was stolen from the area. We have also received a number of reports of theft from motor vehicles and an attempt was made to gain entry into a shed on the same night. 3 males were seen acting suspiciously in the area. If you have witnessed anything or if you have CCTV please review your cameras and report any suspicious activity via 101 quoting CC16219683.

Officers will be in attendance at the following surgeries:

Saturday 6th August, 10am-11am – Joint Council Surgery held at the Civic Centre, Park Lane.

Saturday 20th August, 10am-12pm – Our Crime Prevention Surgery will take place at Waitrose, Park Lane.

Sunday 28th August, 10am-12pm – The Higher Poynton Surgery will take place at The Trading Post, Lyme Road.
