Preparation starts for Ellesmere Port bus zone

4 March 2020

As part of the redevelopment plans for Ellesmere Port, a new bus zone will be created along Civic Way. Once completed, construction will start in the summer on a new public hub building on the site of the old bus station.

Initial work will include the removal of ten trees along Civic Way and the service road to prepare the site. The work will take place on Thursday 5 March. Disruption will be kept to a minimum, working between 9.30am and 3.30pm but there will be a partial road closure and car parking spaces along the service road will not be available whilst the work takes place.

Councillor Richard Beacham, Cabinet Member for Housing, Regeneration and Growth said: “Trees are only removed when absolutely necessary. We have made sure there are no nesting birds before any work takes place.

“We are planning to replant more trees as part of the future landscaping around the bus zone and hub building, as well as fulfilling our commitment to plant 100 additional trees around the Borough.”
