Roadside surveys planned for Northwich
6 October 2016Motorists in Northwich are being advised of a series of roadside interview surveys due to take place over the coming weeks.
Cheshire West and Chester Council have employed Mott MacDonald Consultants supported by Nationwide Data Collection to carry out the surveys on a number of routes in the area during October.
A sample of vehicles will be stopped and the drivers asked questions concerning their journey by the roadside, alternately self-return survey postcards will be given. Buses and coaches will be exempt from the interview.
Police officers will be on duty to control the traffic at the sites and every effort will be made to keep traffic moving and minimise any delays.
Councillor Brian Clarke,Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Infrastructure said: “The information obtained from these surveys will be used to help plan the area’s future transport requirements and shape improvements to the local highway network.
“In order to give accurate results, we are not disclosing the precise time and locations of the surveys, so that drivers continue with their normal traffic patterns.
“The surveys may cause some delays and we would politely ask motorists to show patience and understanding during the exercise, and we thank them in advance for their co-operation.”
