COVID-19 Omicron Business Grant funding application deadline looms

18 February 2022

There is still time for eligible businesses affected by the Omicron variant of COVID-19 to apply for a grant before the scheme closes on 28 February.

Eligibility criteria and an online application can be found at

The Omicron Hospitality and Leisure support grant scheme provides support to hospitality, leisure and accommodation businesses, in recognition of the rise in the Omicron variant, combined with the dual impact of increased staff absences and reduced footfall. This support will take the form of grant awards of up to  £2,667, £4,000 or £6,000, depending on the rateable value of the business premises concerned.

Councillor Carol Gahan Cabinet Member for Legal and Finance said:

“We have already made many payments to businesses affected by Omicron and I’d urge any other business affected to submit an application. For those eligible and affected the grants will help supplement their inevitable losses from the impact that the Omicron variant of COVID-19 had over their festive trading period.

It is our priority to get funding out to those businesses in need as soon as we possibly can and so I would urge businesses to apply before time runs out”.
