Temporary road closure 23 July - Saughall Road, Blacon

Recent highway works on Saughall Road has highlighted the need for a full inspection of all the trees within the grass verges. Eleven mature Robinia trees have been identified as being unsafe due to declining crowns, stem and fungal decay.

Said Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Infrastructure: “For public health and safety the trees will be removed this weekend.”

There will be a temporary road closure on Saughall Road, Blacon during the work.

Added Councillor Clarke: “The trees will be replaced as soon as possible with an alternative appropriate species.”

Diversions will be in place during the work that is expected to last most of the day on Saturday 23 July, further work may be necessary on Sunday 24 July. Access will be available for residents during the work.
