Residents have their say on Council's budget plans
29 November 2017Hundreds of people have had their say on how Cheshire West and Chester Council should manage its finances between 2018 and 2021.
The six-week Balancing the Budget consultation gave residents chance to fill in a questionnaire with their views, try their hand at budget setting with an interactive budget simulator and ask questions of the Cabinet in a live internet debate.
The consultation has now closed.
Councillor Samantha Dixon, Leader of Cheshire West and Chester Council, said: “I want to say a big thank you to everyone who took part in the Balancing the Budget consultation.
“We are currently two years into a four-year plan that was based on what residents told us their priorities were.
“It makes sense that, as time goes on and financial pressures change, we go back to the residents of the borough to make sure we are still meeting their needs.
“Our residents’ opinions really do help to shape the future of our borough.”
Work has now started to analyse the results of the consultation. These will feed into the budget proposals that will go before Budget Council on 1 March 2018.
