Temporary traffic regulation: Chester - Various roads (Chester Christmas Parade and Light Switch On)

Temporary traffic regulation

Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 that the Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council intends to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on following roads in the Chester City Ward to enable the Chester Christmas Parade and Light Switch On to be carried out by the organiser.

The Order will come into force on Thursday 16 November 2017 as detailed below.

Roads to be closed:

The following lengths of road will be closed from 4.30pm to 8.30pm
  • Eastgate Street (From St Werburgh Street to Northgate Street)
  • Northgate Street (From Eastgate Street to St Werburgh Street)
  • Bridge Street (From a point 6 metres north of Feathers Lane to Watergate Street)
  • Watergate Street (From Bridge Street to Nicholas Street)
The following lengths of road will be closed from 5.30pm to 8.30pm
  • Hamilton Place (from Crook Street to the archway by Dublin Packet)
The following lengths of road will be closed from 6pm to 8.30pm
  • Northgate Street (From George Street to St Werburgh Street)
  • St Werburgh Street (From Northgate Street to Eastgate Street)
  • Eastgate Street (From St Werburgh Street to Foregate Street)
  • Foregate Street (From Eastgate Street to St John Street)
  • St John Street (From Foregate Street to Little St John Street)
  • Princess Street (From Northgate to Hunters Walk)
  • Hunters Street (From Northgate Street to Hunters Walk)
  • Hunters Walk (From Hunters Street to Princess Street)
The following lengths of road will be closed from 6.45pm to 7pm, then 7.45pm to 8.15pm
  • Princess Street (From Hunters Walk to St Martins Way)
  • Trinity Street (From Princess Street to Hamilton Place)
  • Hamilton Place (From Crook Street to Trinity Street)
The following lengths of road will be closed from 7pm to 8pm
  • Bridge Street (From Pepper Street to a point 6 metres north of Feathers Lane)
  • Pepper Street (From Bridge Street to Little St John Street)
  • Little St John Street (From Pepper Street to Vicars Lane)
  • Vicars Lane (From Little St John Street to Love Street)
The Order will also:
Close the following sections of the City Walls between 2pm to 9pm.
  • The Eastgate The Newgate
The Order will also:
Suspend parking from 2.30pm to 8.30pm on: Hamilton Place (from Crook Street to the archway by Dublin Packet)

And suspend parking from 3pm to 8.30pm on:
  • Northgate Street (From Hunter Street to St Werburgh Street)
  • St Werburgh Street (From Northgate Street to Eastgate Street)
  • Eastgate Street (From St Werburgh Street to The Eastgate)
  • Foregate Street (From The Eastgate to St John Street)
  • St John Street (From Foregate Street to Little St John Street)
Pedestrian access to premises situated on or adjacent to the roads will be maintained at all times.
