Having a say in what happens in your own neighbourhood and how services are delivered is really important. Cheshire West and Chester Council is carrying out a Community Governance Review of the parishes of Ince and Little Stanney to find out what arrangements exist to enable residents to do just that.
Some communities in West Cheshire are represented locally by town or parish councils while others are represented by different forms of community governance arrangements like community meetings or neighbourhood, resident or tenant management associations.
These areas are usually referred to as unparished areas as they are not governed locally by a town or parish council.
For a more detailed map, visit the Council’s website at: www.cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk/communitygovernance and click on the Little Stanney link.
- The Council is asking residents of Ince whether they would wish to see the parish extended to incorporate the Ince Marshes, an area which is currently in the unparished area of Ellesmere Port.
- The Council is also asking residents of Little Stanney parish and neighbouring Croughton, Stoak and Wervin parishes, whether they would wish to have the boundary of Little Stanney parish extended to incorporate parts of the unparished area of Ellesmere Port. This potential extension could take in a number of areas including Stanney Oaks.
If you live in or have a connection to any of these parishes, the Council would like you to take part in its consultation.
Councillor Paul Donovan, Chairman of the Community Governance Review Committee and Cabinet Member for Democracy and Workforce said: “The Council is encouraging residents to get involved and have their say.
“The more people that give us their thoughts on the proposal, the clearer the picture will be for the Council to make its decision. Therefore I would encourage anyone who is potentially affected by proposals to respond to the consultation and complete a questionnaire.”
