Residents urged to have their say in Winsford children's centre consultation

15 February 2018

Winsford residents are being asked to share their views on the best locations in the town from which to deliver future children’s centre services.

The consultation, which launched yesterday (Weds, 14 February) and will remain open for four weeks until Friday, 16 March, looks at two options:
  1. Greenfields Children’s Centre to remain as a main children’s centre.
Over Children’s Centre to remain closed.
  2. Over Children’s Centre to be re-registered and opened as a main children’s centre.
Greenfields Children’s Centre to change to a linked site (providing further services tailored to meet the needs of local children)
The Council is now asking residents to share their views to help inform the decision-making process.

Councillor Nicole Meardon, Cabinet Member Children and Families, said: “We are committed to giving children, young people and families the best start in life.

“The views of our residents in Winsford are really important in helping shape where services are delivered from for local 0-19 year olds.

“I would encourage everyone to have their say on the options being considered to help inform our decisions.” Full details of the proposals are available on Cheshire West and Chester Council 's website, search ‘Over and Greenfields consultation’.

The consultation is taking place from 14 February until 16 March. There are a number of ways to get involved.

A consultation booklet provides in-depth information about the proposals and a questionnaire for people to share their views. All information is included on the Council website or alternatively a copy of the consultation booklet can be requested via: Views can also be shared via the above contact details.
