New food retailer to open in Winsford Town Centre

10 May 2022

National takeaway brand Caprinos Pizza Ltd is bringing its award-winning pizzas and pasta to Winsford town centre.

It is opening a new store on Jubilee Way in June, offering residents its popular Italian dishes for takeaway and delivery.

Councillor Richard Beacham, Cabinet Member for Inclusive Growth, Economy and Regeneration, said:

“Winsford Town Centre is a dynamic environment at the moment; lots of work is going on behind the scenes which will result in Winsford Cross getting a whole new look and lease of life.

“The decision by Caprinos to set up business here is an indication that Winsford is a town on the move and together with the many great businesses already here, we expect even more businesses to become attracted to Winsford as work on the town centre progresses.”

Mumtaz Hussain, manager of Caprinos in Winsford, said:

“We can see that Winsford town centre is redeveloping and are delighted to open our new store in the town.

“We offer an exceptional variety of pizzas for delivery and takeaway and are sure our new customers in Winsford will enjoy our food and keep coming back for more.”

Caprinos is the first of many new businesses set to move to Winsford Cross and benefit from its transformation over the next few years.

The Council has committed over £11 million of its own capital funding and was awarded Future High Streets Funding from the Government to redevelop the site and there is now planning permission to start work on redevelopment of part of the town later this year.

Caprinos opened its first store in Didcot in 2014 and has since expanded across the UK, with 72 branches across England, Scotland and Wales. It is due to open its new store in Marina Drive, Ellesmere Port shortly to add to its other shops in the borough.

It has won numerous awards for its pizza and pasta and was the Pizza Takeaway of the Year at the Corporate Livewire Prestige Awards in 2020. It was more recently voted as one of the top five best restaurant chains in Britain at The British Takeaway Awards.
