Official opening of the new Poulton and Pulford Community Park Sunday, 4 September
1 September 2016An improved recreation ground is set to be officially opened at the Poulton and Pulford Community Park.
The park improvements have been largely funded by a £50,000 grant from WREN’S FCC Community Action Fund, along with a number of further grants and donations including: The Westminster Foundation, Sanctuary Housing Trust, The Grosvenor Pulford Hotel and the Sir Donald and Lady Edna Wilson Trust.
WREN is a not-for-profit business that awards grants for community projects from funds donated by FCC Environment through the Landfill Communities Fund. Richard Smith, WREN’s grant manager for Cheshire, Halton & Warrington, says: “It’s wonderful to see something we have funded finally open and ready to make such a difference to the community across Poulton and Pulford. WREN is always happy to consider grant applications for projects that benefit local communities and this is a great example of what can be achieved.”
The money raised has been used to buy new play equipment, seating and landscaping for the old playing field in Pulford. The final development stage of the park will take place this autumn when the spring bulbs and trees will be planted.
The event will take place at the Poulton and Pulford Community Park on Sunday, 4 September at 1.30pm. The celebrations will include an opening ceremony and light refreshments organised by the Friends of the Park group.
In attendance will be local ward member Councillor Mark Williams, who will officially open the new Community Park.
