School Admission Appeal Panels - Volunteer Members required | |
Cheshire West and Chester Council require more panel members to sit on the Independent School Admission Appeal Panels. The Panel hears appeals by parents against decisions not to admit children to their preferred schools. Applications are invited from people of all backgrounds as we require Lay Members (a person with no experience in the provision of education in any school, not including experience as a school governor or in another voluntary capacity) and Education Members (a person who is familiar with education provisions in the area of is a parent of a pupil at a school). Full training will be provided. The Appeal Panels sit at various locations across the Cheshire West and Chester Council area, and on a Monday to Friday, and could be from half a day up to five days during the busy “Block” period in May – July, and also casual appeals throughout the year. The work is unpaid, but travel expenses are paid. If you are interested and feel able to offer some time on an occasional basis, we would like to hear from you.
