Whitby Park Picnic area upgraded

10 July 2017

The picnic area next to Whitby Hall and the Community Cafe has been upgraded by Cheshire West and Chester Council.

This well used part of the park was in need of some regeneration, the area now has four new picnic benches and has been levelled and resurfaced as well as a low fence installed to make it safer for those using the space.

Delivered in partnership between the Ellesmere Port localities team and Streetscene, funded through local ward members budgets and New Homes Bonus, the area is for visitors, residents and  users of the park to enjoy a drink and bite to eat.

Councillor Karen Shore, Cabinet Member for Environment,  said: ”This area of the park is a great social space, right next to the community café and is accessible to all park users. I hope people will use this part of the park more regularly and enjoy the wonderful greenspace on their doorstep”.
