Proposed school age range increase for Comberbach Primary School
27 February 2017Consultation commenced today, Monday 27 February, on the Council’s proposals to expand the age range of Comberbach Primary School in Northwich.
The proposal aims to ensure that the Council meets its obligation to ensure a sufficiency of high quality, locally provided early years education and childcare for three to four year olds and follows a request from the governing body of the school.
The informal public consultation period will run for four weeks, Monday 27 February to Sunday 26 March 2017, and an open consultation event is scheduled to be held at the school on Wednesday 8 March 2017 3pm-6pm.
If the outcome of the consultation processes is positive it is hoped the age change will be able to take effect from September 2017.
Cllr Nicole Meardon, Cabinet Member for Children and Families: “Ensuring all of our children and young people are supported to get the best start in life is one of our top priorities. This includes increasing primary school provision to ensure we have the right number of school places in the right locations to meet the needs of a growing population, whilst at the same time, supporting parental choice.”
