Traffic disruption expected on the A51 in Duddon this week

28 November 2018

Cheshire West and Chester Council’s Highways Service has asked multiple utility companies to repair a problem on the A51 in Duddon this week.

The utility companies need to repair patches on the road where the backfilling of their previous roadworks is now causing noise problems for nearby houses.

The work will take place on Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 November and some peak hour travel will be affected.  Delays are expected.

The repairs are estimated to take two days, one day for either side of the road.  Temporary traffic signals may be needed during peak times.

The trenches being repaired are near Meadow View, Tarporley Road Tarporley CW6 0EW, about 300 yards from the old Headless Women public house, towards Tarporley.

The Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment, Councillor Karen Shore said: “Our Highways Service was contacted by a number of residents whose properties are affected.  They then arranged for the utility companies involved to work together to make the necessary repairs.”
