A new team called HIT (High Impact Team) has been created by Cheshire West and Chester Council to deliver its Street Care Pledge.

This new team is supported by the launch of a website which aims to make reporting problems easier and provide useful information about the range of services the Council provides in communities across the borough. The address of the website is

Every day in the borough of West Cheshire, Council services work hard to ensure that our neighbourhoods are clean and are places where people feel proud to live and work.

Sometimes environmental concerns develop that sit outside the normal day-to-day work of these teams so to address these issues a new team has been created called HIT.

Councillor Mark Henesy, Cabinet Member for Environment and Community, said: “The new team will be responsive to the needs of residents and will be directed to where there is a local need or issue.

“This will include where the same problem keeps arising, such as recurring fly tipping or graffiti. In cases like this HIT will address the problem and work with communities to develop a sustainable solution.

“HIT will also take action to address emerging problems which may occur as a result of a particular change in an area. This may include the redesign of a public space to design out anti-social behaviour and create a safe environment where people feel safe.” To support the Council’s commitment to making the borough a great place to live where everyone loves their streets and communities, the new website will make it easier and quicker to report environmental issues - from potholes to graffiti - plus you can find out key facts about place based services and large and small projects being undertaken in your area.
