Chester car park closure

6 April 2016

Hamilton Place car park in Chester will be closed for four days due to archaeological work needed as part of the Northgate development.

For health and safety reasons the car park, which provides 10 dedicated blue badge parking spaces, will be closed from Tuesday, April 12 to Friday, 15 April. The motor cycle area of the car park will also be closed.

Councillor Mark Henesy, Cabinet Member for Environment and Community, said: “The work to be carried out at Hamilton Place will generate accumulations of red sandstone dust.

“It is essential that we protect car park users, and their vehicles, by temporarily closing the whole of the car park for this short time.” Before and during the work signage will be in place showing alternative parking locations.

Alternative off-street parking is available in Frodsham Street car park - four hours free parking for all Blue badge holders; and Market and Trinity Street car parks – four hours free parking for Blue Badge holders who are Cheshire West residents and who have a micro-chipped Blue Badge.

Details of how to apply for a micro-chipped Blue badge can be found on the Council website or call 0300 123 7024.
