Investigation works needed for junction improvements at Gadbrook Park

16 November 2018

Investigation works will be needed at the A556/Gadbrook Park junction, Rudheath from Tuesday 20 to Friday 23 November.

The works are part of the proposed junction improvements planned for the area.  The investigations will assess the extent of the proposed scheme and other survey work will be undertaken at the same time.

Due to the location of the proposed works, extensive traffic management will be required to ensure that the works are undertaken safely.
The traffic management in operation will be as follows:
  • Closure of the right turn lane into Gadbrook Park – Traffic travelling Manchester bound will be diverted via King Street roundabout for Gadbrook Park.
  • No straight on manoeuvre from Rudheath to Gadbrook Park – Traffic from Gadbrook Road will be diverted via King Street roundabout to Gadbrook Park
  • Vehicles will be able to turn right from Gadbrook Road, Rudheath towards Chester.
  • Traffic travelling Chester bound will have a ‘free flow’ manoeuvre into Gadbrook Park.
The Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment, Councillor Karen Shore: “The traffic management will be set up on Monday 19 November and Highways officers will be on site at a number of locations to monitor traffic movements and the traffic signals timings during these temporary works.

“Signs have been erected on site to let motorists know the works will begin from Tuesday 20 November 2018.

“Earlier this week a contractor started work in this area earlier than scheduled.  We corrected this error and when work begins again signed diversions will be in place at the Gadbrook Park traffic lights.

”We apologise for any inconvenience this work may cause and thank drivers for their patience and support while these essential investigations take place.”
