New Deputy Chief Executive (People) appointed at Cheshire West and Chester Council
22 November 2016A Deputy Chief Executive (People) has been appointed to lead Children and Adult Services at Cheshire West and Chester Council.
Delyth Curtis will join the Senior Management Team as Deputy Chief Executive (People), alongside Charlie Seward as Deputy Chief Executive (Place).
Delyth said: “It is a real honour to be appointed to this role and I am delighted to be joining a really strong and successful team at Cheshire West and Chester Council.
“Looking forward to the challenges ahead, my priority will be to continue to deliver high quality services and improve outcomes for our resident population by working closely with elected members, colleagues, partners and the people we serve.”
Delyth joins Cheshire West and Chester Council from Blackpool Council, where she is Director of People, covering both Children and Adult social services.
As well as experience in local government, Deyth has a background in the NHS and has held a range of senior positions including operational and acute hospital management, social care, health and social care commissioning, general management and performance.
She was appointed following a rigorous two-day selection process by a panel made up of the Chief Executive, Chairman of the Staffing Committee, the Leader, Shadow Leader, Shadow Deputy Leader and the Cabinet Member for Adults’ Social Care.
This was approved by the Council’s Staffing Committee and by Cabinet.

“As a Council we want to make sure that west Cheshire’s children and young people are supported to get the best start in life and can reach their full potential. We also want to ensure that vulnerable residents feel safe and are helped to lead independent lives. Delyth is well placed to help us achieve these aims.”
