Residents invited to share views on nursery provision for Blacon
22 June 2016Blacon residents are being invited to share their views on plans for exciting new nursery provision in their area.
Chester West and Chester Council, in partnership with Avenue Services, Dee Point Primary School and local childcare provider Chestnut House Day Nursery Limited, is looking to establish much needed nursery facilities for local families.
The intended site for the facility is the Dee Point building on Blacon Point Road, and residents are being invited to share their views on the kind of childcare provision they would like to by visiting the centre on Thursday 30 June.
There will be three sessions running throughout the day at 9-10am, 3-4pm and 6-7pm.
Options for the site could include childcare for babies, up to 30 hours of free childcare per week, holiday care, wraparound care, provision on weekends or to fit around local residents and their jobs.
Cheshire West and Chester Council’s Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, Councillor Nicole Meardon, said: “We know that additional childcare is much needed within the local community within Blacon and this is a great opportunity to bring a local building back in to use.
“The consultation will focus on exactly what types of childcare the local community feels it needs and this is residents’ opportunity to share their views and help shape our future plans for the site.
“We would encourage as many residents to come along to one of the sessions, talk to staff and tell us what they would like to see in the community.” firstname.lastname@example.org
