Ready to Switch

20 April 2016

Cheshire West and Chester Council’s collective energy switching scheme known as ‘Ready to Switch?’ is now taking registrations for the latest round.

The scheme uses the combined purchasing power of residents to encourage energy companies to offer their lowest tariff.  Residents taking part in previous rounds have seen average savings of around £200.

It’s free to register and there is no obligation to switch suppliers if the tariff offered doesn’t better your current one.

Simply register both your contact details, information on your current contract and annual energy consumption at: www.cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk/readytoswitch

Councillor Mark Henesy, Cabinet Member for Environment and Community, said: “If you haven’t switched supplier for a while, this is a perfect opportunity to see if you can reduce the cost of your energy.

“The Ready to Switch scheme has been an enormous success so far, with hundreds of households in West Cheshire benefiting from lower energy bills.

“If you’d like to be part of the next round, registration is quick and simple, and because up to five households can register on one email address you can register friends or family members at the same time.” The registration period closes at midnight on Monday, 16 May. The following day a reverse auction will take place where energy companies are invited to place their lowest tariff bids for a variety of products.

Following this auction all registrants will receive a personal offer. If you do decide to switch the whole process is taken care of on your behalf.

If you have no access to the internet but would like to register please call 01244 977262 and leave a contact name and number and someone will return your call.
