The Chester Growth Partnership welcomes new Chair

26 September 2017

The Chester Growth Partnership is a key partner in the city. The public-private sector development board are guardians of the One City Plan, a 15 year strategy guiding the economic regeneration of Chester.

This week, Chester Growth Partnership welcomes Peter Carstensen as their new Chair replacing Guy Butler who has chaired the board for the past two and a half years.

Peter who was the previous deputy chair has extensive experience of corporate finance and real estate both from the legal and the investor perspective, starting his career as a lawyer in London (Slaughter and May / Freshfields) and moving into own account investing in internet based start-ups and early stage ventures and in property (residential & commercial buy-to-let and new-build property development). Peter specialises in projects requiring a complex mix of corporate finance and business strategic expertise to unlock full value.

Councillor Samantha Dixon, Leader of Cheshire West and Chester Council said: “I’d like to thank Guy for the great contribution he has made. His knowledge and experience has helped create a dynamic and creative board and I believe we are seeing a real difference in the city as a result.

“Peter will chair the Chester Growth Partnership for the next 12 months – I hope we see just as much success over the coming year as we have over the past year.” The One City Plan aims to create a reinvigorated city centre, making it a distinctive and desirable place to live, invest, do business, visit and study. Chester Growth Partnership Board works hard to make sure opportunities for economic growth are maximised for Chester and the wider sub region. The Board’s business plan has brought together the public and private sector in Chester focusing on investment, dwell time, housing, infrastructure and engagement.
